In Turkey, the number of hotel rooms increased 67% over the last decade. In 2009, Turkey climbed up to 15th position in relation to the tourism and travel industry revenue recorded by World Travel and Tourism Council. In addition to tourism, business and MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions) also made significant contribution to the increase in hotel room demand.
In order to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Turkish Republic, a goal has been set to reach 70 million tourist arrivals to Turkey with revenue of US$80 billion by 2023. With this predicted increase in tourism, hotels have been expanding at a phenomenal pace across Turkey. Turkey Hotel Expansion Summit will gather industry leaders in Istanbul to discuss how, by working together; they can ensure that Turkey will achieve its goals.
